VISION, MISSION STATEMENT, AND CORE VALUES
OF THE
UNITED ROMAN-RUTHENIAN CHURCH
AND THE
PONTIFICAL IMPERIAL STATE OF ROME-RUTHENIA
Well done, good and faithful servant, because thou hast been faithful over a few things,
I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (Matthew 25.21)
VISION STATEMENT
To be a global sanctuary of faith, uniting all people through the timeless traditions of the
Roman-Ruthenian Church, inspiring lives of purpose, and reflecting the love of Christ in all that we do.
MISSION STATEMENT
We, the Bishops, Clergy, and People of the United Roman-Ruthenian Church
and the Pontifical Imperial State of Rome-Ruthenia, commit ourselves to:
1. Preserve the Faith: As
a fully canonical autocephalous Apostolic See adhering to the historic
and constant faith of the Church as taught by the Saints and Church
Fathers,
our commitment is to uphold the teachings of Christ and
the legacy of the Apostles, ensuring that the faith once delivered for
all unto the saints remains a guiding light for the world.
To beseech you to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints. (Jude 1.3)
2. Embrace our Heritage and Welcome Everyone: As
an ethno-religious nation without political territory and a state unto
itself representing people across multiple modern political countries,
we are custodians of an ancient tradition. We commit to preserving our
sacred Church heritage, honoring our Apostolic Succession, and
maintaining our Orthodox and Old Catholic identity rooted in Rome,
Russia, Byzantium, Armenia, Syria, and India. Our heritage connects us
to the past, enriches our present, and guides our future. We welcome
all who seek spiritual growth in Christ.
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. (Romans 15.7)
3. Foster Spiritual Growth:
We provide a network for individuals to connect with the traditional
Christian faith, whether locational or remote. Our Church’s timeless
message, steeped in over 2,000 years of tradition, offers a firm
foundation to grow spiritually and maintain a lifelong devotion to
Christ and His Holy Church.
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10.10)
4. Serve Humanity:
Our Church culture spans geographical boundaries, and we believe that
faith is not merely a personal journey but a communal responsibility.
Seeking to embody the love of Christ in action, we encourage our people
to serve as they are able according to their time and talents in
humanitarian and charitable work. Our commitment to serve the
downtrodden is a testament to our faith in a world that often overlooks
the vulnerable.
For you, brethren,
have been called unto liberty: only make not liberty an
occasion to the flesh, but by charity of the spirit serve one
another. (Galatians 5.13)
5. Build Community:
The Apostolic Church is a bastion of the timeless faith of Christ, ever
bridging the past and future. We affirm that the Church's traditions
are not relics of history, but are vibrant, living principles that
remain relevant in every era. We believe that the traditions of the
faith foster belonging and purpose, guiding individuals through the
challenges of life. We seek to cultivate a Christ-centred community
where every individual is valued, heard, and supported. We actively
engage with the needs of our society to embody the love of Christ in
action.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Hebrews 13.8)
THE FIVE CORE VALUES
Each as a Symbolic Finger of the Hand of God Guiding All That We Believe and Do
1. Preservation of the Orthodox and Old Catholic Faith of Christ
We are of the Orthodox faith with Old Catholic heritage.
Therefore, we uphold the teachings of Christ and the legacy of the Apostles and Church Fathers in all that we do.
We ensure the faith delivered to the saints remains a beacon to all in the world.
Hold the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me in faith, and in the love
which is in Christ Jesus. Keep the good thing committed to thy trust
by the Holy Ghost, who dwelleth in us. (2 Timothy 1.13-14)
2. Heritage and Belonging
Our rich, diverse traditions are a treasure of God that we have a responsibility to uphold.
In that tradition, all who seek Christ are welcome. We are a spiritual home that transcends borders.
Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners; but you are fellow citizens with
the saints, and the domestics of God. (Ephesians 2.19)
3. Spiritual Growth
With an Apostolic faith tradition of over 2,000 years, we sustain a firm foundation that
fosters lasting devotion to Christ, with pathways for individuals to deepen their faith
and experience abundant life through Christ.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be
glory both now and unto the day of eternity. (2 Peter 3.18)
4. Service to Humanity
Faith is a communal responsibility. We seek to embody the love of Christ through humanitarian
efforts and charitable work, uplifting the vulnerable, and fostering compassion in our communities.
And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you
did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me. (Matthew 25.40)
5. Christ-Centred Community
The United Roman-Ruthenian Church and Pontifical Imperial State of Rome-Ruthenia are
together a Christ-centered community. Our traditions are our guide, and Christ is our foundation.
We seek to foster a culture of belonging and purpose, engaging with societal needs.
For as the body is one, and hath many members; and all the members of the body,
whereas they are many, yet are one body, so also is Christ. (1 Corinthians 12.12)
