The Act of Union of 2023, formally known as the bulla Sedis Nostra, was signed by Radislav I of Rome-Ruthenian on the Feast of Pentecost. The bulla completed the modern unification of the constituent jurisdictions that form the United Roman-Ruthenian Church.

Background

The bodies entering the union possessed related but distinct histories, rites, successions, and institutional identities. Their convergence had unfolded over a longer period through shared hierarchy, governance, mission, and liturgical life. Each had come to be under the spiritual leadership of the Bishop of Rome-Ruthenia.

Effect

The act gave consolidated form to a church that has ancient Eastern and Western Christian patrimony, including the Gallo-Russo-Byzantine and Anglican-Byzantine rites. It also clarified the Catholicate of Rome-Ruthenia as the single patriarchal jurisdiction.
