Chancellor (part of the Pontifical Court and Patriarchal Curia - and part of the United Roman-Ruthenian Church clergy) Chancellor can refer to an official within the Pontifical Court and Curia of the United Roman-Ruthenian Church, often referred to as the Chancellor of the Pontifical Court or the Chancellor of the Court of St. Mary of Walsingham. It is an office within the Pontifical Secretariat and handles many administrative functions. Chancellor can also refer to an official within a diocese or archdiocese. There it likewise is an administrative office, but serves the Metropolitan or Bishop ordinary in their diocesan or archdiocesan curial work.
