A lector is a clergyman within the United Roman-Ruthenian Church who ranks below an Exorcist and above a Porter. Lector is one of the Minor Holy Orders of the clergy. Lectors are authorised by the Church to lead the Divine Offices and to read or sing the lessons in the Divine Liturgy in the absence of a Sub-Deacon.
