Office of State (part of the Pontifical Court and the Patriarchal Curia) The Patriarchal Office of State is responsible for the administration of the titular temporal patrimony of the Pontifical Imperial State (United Roman-Ruthenian Church) under the provisions of international law pertaining to customs of sovereign entities. It operates as part of the Pontifical Secretariat. Divisions within the Office of State are the Imperial Vice Chancery of Italy (charged with the authentication and processing of official documents, in cooperation with the Pontifical Chancery, including Roman Citizenship), the Honours Office (charged with maintaining the unified honours system of the Pontifical Imperial State), and the Pontifical Post.
