First Archdeacon of the Apostolic See (Patriarchal Curia of the United Roman-Ruthenian Church)

The First Archdeacon is senior cleric of very high rank in the Patriarchal Curia of the United Roman-Ruthenian Church. He is often a priest or deacon, but may be a cleric of any rank. He ranks as a Prelate of the Fiocchetto unless he is a Cardinal, and therefore is one of the senior-most clerics of the Church. His privileges include the title of His Excellency the Very Reverend and Venerable Monsignor, as well as a scarlet habit. His function is to lead the Pontifical Secretariat, the principle central administrative office of the Patriarchal Curia.
