Curial office for education and formation

The Prefecture of Education is the office of the Patriarchal Curia responsible for educational matters in the United Roman-Ruthenian Church. Its competence includes seminaries, priestly formation, and other programs that prepare clergy and faithful for informed service.

The Prefecture enjoys the rights and privileges of a prefecture while functioning as a subordinate congregation of the Prefecture of Faith and Doctrine. This relationship helps keep education consistent with the doctrine, discipline, and pastoral mission of the Church.

If no Prefect of Education is appointed, Canon Law permits the Prefecture of Faith and Doctrine to assume its leadership and duties.
