PATRIARCHAL OFFICE OF STATE


The Patriarchal Office of State is responsible for the administration of the titular temporal patrimony of the Stato Pontificio (United Roman-Ruthenian Church) under the provisions of international law pertaining to customs of sovereign entities. It operates as part of the Pontifical Secretariat.

Divisions within the Office of State

Imperial Vice Chancery of Italy
Charged with the authentication and processing of official documents,
in cooperation with the Pontifical Chancery.

Roman Citizenship

Honours Office
Charged with maintaining the unified honours system of the Stato Pontificio.

Rescript on the Granting Authority of Titles of Nobility and Other Honours

Pontifical Post
Charged with shipping duties in furtherance of the mission of the Church.
