Guardsman - Corporal - Sergeant - Marshal

Postnomials: WG
Airbourne Guard of Honour: ABN, WG

Officers:
Lieutenant - Captain
Each unit is generally limited to no more than four Captains and eight Lieutenants.
Captains: Aide-de-Camp to the Commander (no more than 2); Headquarters Company Commander;
Assistant Adjutant
Lieutenants: Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander (1); Deputy
Headquarters Company Commander; other offices as needed 

Senior Officers:

Colonel
Each unit is generally limited to no more than two Colonels:
the Deputy Commander and Adjutant.

General Officers:

Major General
The Commander of each unit holds this rank, and
thus each unit is permitted only one.

Lieutenant Field Marshal
Rarely awarded, typically to assistants to the Prince-Bishop.
It is also the rank that may be awarded to Commanders of Divisions
in General Command after a period of service as a Major General.

General-in-Chief
Rarely awarded, typically to assistants to the Prince-Bishop.

Captain-General and First Marshal of the Pontifical Imperial State (the Prince-Bishop ex-officio)

The Naval Guard is generally limited to no more than four Senior Lieutenants and eight Lieutenants.
Senior Lieutenants: Aide-de-Camp to the Commander (no more than 2); Headquarters Company Commander;

Lieutenants: Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander (1); Deputy
Headquarters Company Commander; other offices as needed

General Officers:

Rear Admiral
The Commander of the Naval Guard holds this rank, and
thus there is only one, excepting those serving in General Command.

Vice Admiral
Rarely awarded, typically to assistants to the Prince-Bishop.
It is also the rank that may be awarded to Commanders of Divisions
in General Command after a period of service as a Rear Admiral.

Admiral
Rarely awarded, typically to assistants to the Prince-Bishop.

Admiral-General (the Prince-Bishop ex-officio)


Note: The insignia as above is also used for the Naval Guard,
with the addition of sleeve lace (with executive curl) for officers as below: 

Lieutenant: One stripe.
Senior Lieutenant: Two stripes.
Captain: Four stripes.
Rear Admiral: 40 mm wide stripe with regular stripe and curl above it.
Vice Admiral: As for a Rear Admiral, with the addition of a second regular stripe below the wide stripe.
Admiral: As for a Rear Admiral, with the addition of a second regular stripe above the wide stripe.
Admiral-General: Identical to an admiral, with crowned key and sword insignia above the curl.
